SUMMARY:Monona Defends Democracy and the Constitution
DESCRIPTION:Monona Defends Democracy and the Constitution will be at the co
rner of Monona Drive and Nichols Road. Every other Saturday: June 27\, Jul
 y 11\, July 25\, August 8. 10 – 11 am. Nichols Road and Monona Drive.\n\
nJoin us. You are not alone. We are not the crazy ones. We are not the one
s bent on destroying democracy\, ignoring the rule of law\, and creating a
fascist authoritarian state.\n\nIf you are not angry and disgusted\, you
are not paying attention. Everyday our government....think about that: it
is OUR government...does something abhorrent and atrocious to destroy demo
cracy and the values\, norms and law of the Constitution: . Things like\n\
n Eliminating majority black congressional districts\,\n Continuing a ne
ver-ending pointless and expensive ($29 billion and counting) war\,\n Inc
reasing food prices\,\n Pushing gasoline prices up and up\,\n New attack
s on women's rights and abortion\,\n More and more efforts to restrict ou
r right to vote\,\n More cruelty\,\n Attacks on alternative energy\, the
  environment\, endangered species\, migrating birds\,\n Ignoring science\
,\n Attacking life-saving vaccines\,\n Killing thousands around the worl
d by cutting off humanitarian aid\,\n Policies that only benefit the ultr
a-wealthy\, giving more power to billionaires\n Still more cruelty\,\n M
ore meanness\,\n More degradation of civil discourse.\n\nThe list goes on
. And on. And on.\n\nWe cannot stop our efforts. The giant of popular opin
ion grows more powerful every day. We are pissed off.\n\nWe are standing i
n opposition to this regime\, and we are letting our neighbors know that t
hey are not alone in their opposition.\n\nJoin us. Every other Saturday: J
 une 27\, July 11\, July 25\, August 8. 10 – 11 am. Nichols Road and Mono
na Drive.\n\nA core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitmen
t to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate
any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
