About Us

Indivisible Madison East is an all-volunteer organization that was formed in November 2024. Since its inception, the group has transformed from a small group of neighbors to a community-wide movement. Overall, Indivisible Madison East is focused on protecting democracy, but within our organization we have teams focused on specific issues such as: immigration, labor, Trans/LGBTQ+ rights, Medicaid/Medicare and increasing young people’s political engagement.

Who We Are

We work to strengthen grassroots activism by educating and empowering people to act on issues from the local and state level, all the way to the national level. Indivisible Madison East works with other local groups to make lasting change in the Madison community, Wisconsin, and nationally. If you share this common purpose, join us!

Our Mission

Through civic engagement, collective action, and community partnerships, Indivisible Madison East works locally to build a movement that pushes back against authoritarianism, upholds democracy, and centers power where it should bewith the people.

Recent Actions

Kick out the clowns | No Kings

In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings. NO KINGS was a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies.

Hands off

Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them, but Madison is fighting back! They’re taking everything they can get their hands on—our health care, our data, our jobs, our services—and daring the world to stop them. This is a crisis, and the time to act is now.

Empty chair town hall

Ron Johnson has not hosted an in-person town hall in more than 8 years. We held an empty chair town hall to show  Senator Johnson and the rest of the cowardly congressional GOP that we are real and we cannot be ignored.

How We Win

Indivisible’s mission is to bring a diverse set of people and beliefs under a single banner to oppose President Trump and MAGA’s threat to American democracy. By building an inclusive tent based on democratic principles, we can build a network of trust and action in our community. We tap into this network to take small and large actions against the everyday threats to our democracy. We believe the power is in the people when the people are united. Join us in the fight.

It goes on one at a time,
it starts when you care
to act, it starts when you do
it again after they said no,
it starts when you say We
and know who you mean, and each
day you mean one more.
